Any opinions on using shredded paper as substrate? I was thinking about getting a paper shredder for work, so wondered if I could reuse the paper!?

It is harder to clean up. Simple sheets of newspaper are easier to clean up. IMO. ;-)

It works very well. I was a little sceptical at first, but I have seen it used in a fairly large collection of pythons and I am convinced it's one of the best substrates as long as laziness doesn't set in.
Cheers

oops, it is for a python weezie-martini! Yeah I can see that sheets would be less messy... Is that the only reason?

If you have any rats and mice, they love the stuff to death. I dont use it as the main substrate, I just put a big handful in every now and then and they make nests from it.

I have used it with BHP's & Womas that like to hide in it.
I have a large office type paper x-shredder which I have been trying to get rid of.
