i have 2 carpet pythons in the same enclosure (both surposidly males) they normally spend most of there time seperated at either end of the enclosure. the last two nights i have noticed them in the same hide box and this morning they were together on there heat rock . i havent noticed any breading activity yet , but is this how it starts? |

You are trying to breed from 2 males?
You may be waiting for breeding signs for quite a while.

i guy i know who breeds diamond pythons said that when he cools his males in the same cage they actually try tomate with each other when they ready for breeding season. he said he'd seen actual sperm inside other males vent, and then that was a wasted breeding season. if this story is true or not is another story but just thought i would say it any way
that is all |

If male isn't up to it the place another male into cage. If the girl smells right then the males will combat (DON'T leave them unsupervised, if you leave the room remove one or both males). The winner should then try and claim his prize. |

Cuddled up together is not a good indicator of breeding activity. If you see one snake following the other around, and continually flicking its tongue along the others body, that's a good sign. If you see one moving around on top of the other, and scratching it with the spurs, thats also a good sign. If the see the two together and their tails are crossed at their vents, well that is a very good sign.
Hope this answers your question. |

When we had one that worked I found another large flat rock to go on top to disperse the heat. Is that an overreaction?
