Hi
I have sliding glass on my enclosures and just use a piece of blutack to stop them sliding. I have seen electrical cord outer casing used, but still looks unsightly.
What do you use?
Cheers

Ad,
I got all my rubber bungs from a Bunnings type store for $2.50 a pr, maybe Bunnings or similar might have some for sale.
I have found glass locks work really well, and wouldn't consider anything else for the higher value animals.
Cheers,
Neil

Valid point Neil,
do you have a seperate key for each or can you 'master key' them all?

Ad - I have sliding glass locks on all my enclosures, you can get them from Westside Pets at Taringa. They're awesome, they do have seperate keys for each lock, but I like it better that way. I just have each enclosure labelled, and a corresponding key tag to tell me what's what...

Ad,
No,a separate key to each, you get two keys per lock, and I mark up both sets to the viv numbers and then put them onto two keys rings.
I have noticed that occasionally one key will fit two different viv's, but it's not much of a issue.
Locks obviously serve two purposes, first to keep what's in, in! And second to keep those out that you don't want in(Not foolproof!, But will delay them getting in, and they would have to break the glass too, which would make noise and possibly cut them, so a worth while deterrent.)

you can get a locksmith to put all the keys on to one key to make a 'master' key for your vivs (only your vivs)
its handy we did it for all our locks in our place

You can get sliding glass locks from Mitre 10 and other hardware stores cheaper than at pet shops. Thats where I get mine from. And you can get a few different types as well that can be more secure if your keeping snakes that are worth a fortune at hardware stores. Pet shops dont have half the range most of the time.

To make the glass impossiable to remove when locked, glue a small piece of wood up inside the top track. It completely prevents the removal of the glass by lifting them up.If you do this off centre towards the ends then the glass can only be removed when the locks are off and the glass is slid towards centre.
