sloughing

my snake is about to shed and has been laying curled up for about a week his eyes are white so how long before he actually sheds and should i spray him with water as some books say or just leave him be?

Most will take 1 - 2 weeks to slough after they become "cloudy". They will go back to almost their normal after the "cloudy" stage and then it will be 1 - 2 weeks before they slough the skin.

up to u, i give mine a bath, but others dont.

the eyes go clear fro a couple of days before he sheds.

why bathe it? do you find its a bit jumpy round that time? and do you do that to all your pythons?

Don't worry about bathing him. You can eaither move his water bowl closer to the heat source or mist the enclosure to raise the humidity.

i only have the one, he gets a few baths a week, he waits on the towel rail and seems to enjoy it, days he dosent want one he sits on the towel cupboard. and no, i dont find him jumpy @ that time, hes always totally calm, i can stick my head in his cage regardless of where he is with his shed cycle and kiss him on the nose without him flinching.

i started giving him baths cos he wasnt shedding in one piece and hes shed perfectly ever since.

as i said its up to you, thats just my way of doing things.
