Sloughing

My MD is sloughing for the first time since I got him (when I was handling him, he was obviously confused then I noticed the milky eyes). So apart from leaving him alone, is there anything I can do to make it easier for him?

I wouldn't worry too much. Sloughing is a natural thing for them. A bowl big enough for him to soak in, of water and just leave him. Once he has shed, if he has bits left on him, you'll need to soak him in warm water & help him get it off but for now just let him be. Humidity isn't crucial to carpet pythons. I've never measured humidity and have never had any problems.

hmm, last night he seemed unable to find anything in his enclosure, is it best to leave him to find it, or can I take him to the water bowl without it being much trouble? He seemed really confused when I was handling him is all

When they're eyes are milky they can't see properly so feel vulnerable. And feeling confused while you are handling him would be very normal. I wouldn't handle him now until after he has sloughed, but don't worry. He will settle. And its only a temporary thing. His eyes will clear again.
