i just got my first python its a 5 month coastal, and my cockatiel loves him cant wait to see what he does in a years time when the snakes alot bigger.

Reckon it either had to be a cat or a possum fuscus.
As you say, hopefully a cat.

Actually I think it was either a bandicoot as there were bandicoot diggings within a couple of meters of the snake or a pademelom (A kind of small Kangaroo, see http://150.101.58.70/showimage.php?i...demelom_01.jpg ) as they are very common in the immediate area.

hmmm.. birds in the garden.. we had baby birds hatching(honeyeaters) and scarlet breasted finches coming in for the grevillea..and well..i couldnt help but think...goody theyll attract the snakes into the yard trees. bad me. My sister is a wildlife carer person and she was delivered a beautiful carpet someone had found in their chicken coup. It had eaten 3 baby chicks and then went the hen..and couldnt get through the wire lol.
