Lightbulb Snakes vs lizards

Thought this could make for an interesting thread...

Explain your reason why you think snakes make for a better pet, or if other reps such as dragons, monitors, just lizards in general.

Now i know alot of people have or like both (like i do) but curious what you think is a better or more interesting pet???

go nuts

Snakes are generally cooler but it depends on the species and ther habitat. Goannas arnt cool at all.

By far the coolest reptile is an AHG straight from the freezer.

I finally worked it our mate. LOL. I guess the diamond python is the coolest live python and prob the Chappell Island Tiger the coolest snake. But clearly the coolest (live) reptile is the Tuatara.

my vote was for lizards. I still keep a couple of pythons but my main focus is the small dragons skinks and gecko's. Dragons have so much personality and are so fun to watch.

I've kept both here and overseas. I'm now a lizard person (mostly-I have just got a pair of Diamonds and I already had Bredlis). My argument is that snakes have no limbs, eyelids or ears. Hence any variety in their form is limited to variance in something that is basically a piece of string! Add to this the fact that most Australian snakes are shades of brown. Also they are generally less demanding that lizards so where's the challenge!
Now shout me down....

Lizards have heaps more personality and interact with people far more. When you look into a lizards eyes you get the sense that something is going on behind there, where most snakes, and there are exceptions just stare blankly back.

That is why I love snakes! You never know if you are seconds away from a love bite. We are lucky tho, here in Australia we have some of the most interesting and beautiful native lizards in the world!

I've got to vote snakes over lizards. Even my highest maintenance snake is far easier to look after than my beardie. I must admit some monitors are very nice.
