| | | | dodgie. the hissing and puffing is normal for spencers hatchlings and adults.they tend to evert their hemipenes as well.there okay to handle during these mental attacks and will get used to it eventually.they do grow quiet large but dont need heaps of room if you only intend on having one as a pet. if you handle it enough it will just lie around the house like a dog. something to remember during winter is your animal will get colder while you have it out of its cage so just be careful he/she hasn,t just eaten or has a gut full of food. make sure you keep the temps high and imo spencers monitors benefit from having a heat mat to ensure the digestive process is completed properly.they are one of the coolest monitors you can keep and i hope you get to grow old together LOL . |

The day i got him, thursday he ate one pinkie and about 3 crickets and now he wont eat at all is this normal,i though he would show interest in food all the time as a juvie and thats what i have been told. His cage temps are high and he had a drink lastnight. there are crickets running around his cage but he shows no interest in them.
