Stimson hibernation ?

Hi,

My Stimmie is a yearling now, survived last winter, and going strong. It's getting colder down in melbourne, and he's stopped eating (always been a good feeder).

do Stimmies hibernate, should I change the heat mat times etc over winter, and what's recommended ? Should I feed him less (once a week at the moment) ?

thanks,

Matt

Just switch off the heat at night, turn it on during the day and ensure he has access to a basking spot of 33-35 degrees during the time it is on (6-8 hours per day minimum). Don't feed him again until Spring as he won't be able to digest properly with the cold nights.

They don't hibernate; they brumate.
