Substrate Question

Hey Peoples,

Just a quick question about substrates. I recently bought a metre of synthetic grass, and I have cut it up to size and have managed to get four sections out of it for my enclosure.

Now, I was wondering, should I clean the grass before using it? If so, how do people clean synthetic grass? Is there a standard method of doing this?

Also, do people who use synthetic grass use it for the floor of their entire enclosure, or just one section (my enclosure is for BD's).

Cheers,
Younge

I would wash it before you use it. I spay mine with disenfectant and then give them a good hose, you can also soak the carpet in tub with disenfectant and rinse.

hmmmmm, never been a fan of synth grass... looks good but can be a pain to clean.
certainly i would disinfectant first and rinse before using in an enclosure.
I know that synth grass looks a hell of a lot better than newspaper, but for practical purposes newspaper is the best!

Otherwise using synth, you'll have to go to extra lengths for sanitary reasons.

I guess you already chose synth carpet so make sure you keep it clean as much as possible
