Super Mice ?

Hi , What are super mice ? What makes them so wonderful ? Are they just your white lab mice ? Are they for sale any-where ? Can any-one help with these questions ? thanks , jim

Hi Jim,the mice you are refering to,are also called Krackenberg mice I think.They were bred for a lab situation and have very large litters the best we have seen with ours is 19 in a litter.Mice in general don't reproduce very well in a warm climate and this is particularly true with these mice.They do well as soon as winter comes around in NTH QLD.

I'm pretty sure these mice are genetically engineered to produce better litters.
They seem more docile and look after their young better too.
Not 100% sure of the name either, but krakenbush was how I recalled it.
they do not like the hot weather all right, mine havent bred for 3 months.

If you do a google on "Kruckenberg Mice" then you get 1000s of different answers. Happy reading

Quackenbush Swiss (QS)

Genotype: Outbred albino

brc Origin: Sourced from Department of Veterinary Physiology at the University of Sydney in 1996. Original selection from Swiss mice colonies which demonstrated high fecundity

Strain data: Extremely robust mouse that is larger than the average Swiss mouse.
Litter size of 14+ is common. Used for reproductive physiology and anatomy

We have some Swiss Outbred Mice(Albinos), but don't seem to do too much breeding wise??

My Ginger Longhaired ones(they are like mini guinea pigs). so placid and real pet like. Just breed like mice hey. This little girl, I want to keep as my pet??? Slap Slap!!! Cheryl don't go soft on the Reptile Food Industry!

The super mice I have truley can leap tall buildings in a single bound!!!!!!!!!!! And they bite!!!!!!!!! Maybe I have the wrong ones,but they have up to 18 mice at a time,but crikey they can jump and will not be handled and are super fast.Miss............. I will have some breeding pairs for sale in a month or so as they have all started spitting out bubs and no snakes are feeding for 3 months now.

Does anyone have any rat or mice cages for sale?

Breeding your own mice and rates seems like a much better idea, considering we want to feed up alot of our snakes...getting expensive.

Check your local UNI or TAFE, they replace their cages every so often.
