Anyone know where to get these (edison screw UV flouro fixtures) in Australia? http://www.azgardens.com/newlights2.php#ESU Super UV Coil Lamps
They seem pretty good and although expensive, require a standard edison screw fitting, which would be easier and save a bit of money too.

They look alright but it doesn't say how far uva/uvb rays are emitted, would be worth trying though.

Hmm, bit too pricey then. They are only about $20 in the US, I thought they might be under $50 here but there you go.

Mags, have you seen the M.V. U.V. lamps Brian Barnett has? They look pretty damned good to me and they are only 50 bucks a pop I think. !50 Watt though so they provide heat as well but are more exy to run.

Mercury vapour bulbs can't be used with a thermostat which can be a problem if your cages are well ventilated, very good though.

Yeah, seen them afro, problem is, they need a huge cage so as to not get too hot. Have seen them in a 7'Hx4'Wx3'D and they still ran too hot for frillies.
