Hi all ya'll
Well yesterday my jungle shed!!! Last week he only ate one of his mice, and i noticed on Sunday and Monday his eyes looked a little bit milky and his scales had little flecks on them, then yesterday morning he looked all better, so didn't think that much of it, then next thing i walk past his enclosure and hes already shed 1/2 his skin!! I think if i had kept walking and not stopped he would have done a full shed without ripping the skin, but he ripped the tail of the shed, so now i got 2 pieces over half is in 1 piece then i have about 10cm of tail skin!! Its so cool, i been playing with my "hollow" snake and scaring the kids and other visitors hehehe!! He looks unreal now hes heaps brighter and cleaner. I'm so glad he did it no worries at all, and he ate 2 reasonably big mice last night so i'm very happy. I still haven't picked him up yet, he freaks out when you touch him, its like he panics and tries to get away, and i don't want to freak him out too much. He seems very curious and always comes up to our hands on the glass and follows you around like he wants to play, but as soon as you touch him he freaks out. I desperatly want to start handling him before he gets too big, he wouldn't be far off a metre, but i hate disturbing him when hes sleeping and when hes out and about, he freaks out quickly, and the other days of the week i'm waiting for his feed to settle. I want to get him into a pattern so he know the days he gets handled and the days hes fed. I usually feed of a Wednesday, leave him til Saturday, handle him Saturady and Monday that way after i handle him he has at least a days rest. Any handling tips would be appreciated....
