RE: swim fan

yeah first time I've seen him fully in the bowl strange I use to use a cermaic bowl but was too small and the tupperware works better and the top seconds as a plate for when I give him the rat

RE: swim fan

yep well if he don't take straight away I leave it on the lid and then the rat doesn't touch the paper and the chance that ink stain on the rat when he does eat it is minimal
Gee he has it easy

Most probably trying to cool itself for breeding. My tropical animals go to the cool side of enclosures from around this time onwards.Sometimes if the air temp is too hot for there liking during this period(people using lights and ceramic heaters)they will immerse themselves in the water. Then again it might have mites.

Interesting comment oldfella
I have been noticing my females staying in the cooler parts of the enclosure lately
I hope they want a family

Funny you post this Farmdog as I live near you and today is the first time in a long time (well actually last night 3/3) that I have seen my diamond all curled up in his water dish. Hasn't done it in ages. He did it after a feed.

RE: swim fan

My Darwins certianly don't have mites but last week i saw both of them curled up in the water completely submerged. I took them to Terri Bellamy at Austral Vets just out of paranoia and there was nothing wrong at all. Mine just love swimming.
