hi there iv had a new sub-adult trio of v.scalaris for about 3 weeks and one of them has had tail constriction on its tail iv let it settle in now i want to be rid of this so any hints or any help at all would be much appreciated im in brisbane
just like to point out that this monitor in question had the tail constriction when i recived it which i find weird cuzz it was kept outside in its natural range 30km outside darwin

The best way I've found to aid shedding in monitors is to make sure the sand at the cool end of the enclosure (about 1/3 the length of the enclosure) is kept moist (not wet) so the monitors can dig and tunnel in it. This helps the shedding process.
Also, every 3 or 4 days (when I notice it has dried up a bit too much), I dump some extra water on the substrate and may even mist the cool end.
I'm thinking if you've had the monitor for 3 weeks and the tail constriction has been there, it's lucky to still have that part of the tail. You really should have done something about it straight away, regardless of the fact they were in a new home.
