tap water ok for pythons

just wondering if people give thier reps water straight from the tap or do you age it first, due to the chlorine etc.
so far ive been using aged water but its a pain if you run out or forget to put some aside.

I just boil water first and put it in a bigger jug, then there is always a good source of water for them, I am in Adelaide though and our water isn't the best.

yeah water quality is good, central coast nsw, but was just curious with chlorine in the water...
fish have to have aged water cause chlorine kills them, not every time but ive had enough experience with my gold fish to know never give them fresh tap water.

then again the python isnt in the water 24/7

I give ours straight tap water and it does not seem to bother them at all.

I used tap water for a year or so no dramas, but its not much effort to have a bottle of boiled (then cooled) water near your snake tanks ready to go.

if you are that concerned buy a 10ltr bottle of water from the supermarket. I did this for awhile but have to be honest and say I got sick of the fuss and now use tap water - doesn't seem to be any probs with the herps Have.

The chlorine would probably keep the water fresher for longer

Chlorine is out of the water within 24hours of being exposed to the air any way. Generally a few hours if the water is shallow.

My snakes only get the best, i regularly import bottles of Blue Arctic water in from the North pole.

And on weekends they are allowed Crownies, just a little treat.

But the maccies really go big on the Baileys

I generally go straight tap water, for as much as they drink I don't think it could hurt them here in Melb. Ash doesn't spend much time in his bowl and I'm yet to see Midnite go near his for long periods. Venom likes to lay around the edge of his bowl from time to time.

I'm positive tap water is fine... the dogs have tap water, the mice have tap water, the snakes, which generally drink less have tap water... In fact, i'm not sure my snake even drinks... hehe... Caught her swimming in it tho... But I don't think the tap water would contain any more nasties than what she put into it when she went swimming!
