I know that there are various paints around that contain varying amounts of teflon and some are able to prevent roaches etc. climbing.
Does anyone know what paints(name and brand) are suitable for this?

I mean paint, fluon isnt paint IMO, i already have some fluon(somewhere) but i dont feel comfortable using it around frogs.
Im not actually 100% sure it does work with roaches(i read that on this forum). I know that they make stuff that paint wont stick to, i figure it may work but i cant afford to buy it and find out it doesnt.

It contains the same product anyway. By the way fluon is magic for roaches.
All entomologists in the insect world use only fluon for insect culturing. You won't find anything that works better.

Reason: Can't say for certain it won't effect frogs

Fluon works fine for Roaches, all my tubs are fluoned and no escapees.
Not tried the 'Teflon' to see how it compares, but I intend to.

I have used Fluon with my roaches for about 2 years now without having to repaint and it is great, there is no way they can climb it. The only 'problem' is that it dries to a sort of powder and will wipe off.

I already use fluon for my roach tubs it works really well, i want a paint that will set to become solid, dry(not powdery) and practically inert so it wont harm my frogs.

I wish I could find some so I don't have to use vaseline.

OK i know for a fact they make various paints and some have a high content of teflon(a polymer with very low coefficent of friction AKA slippery), mainly so they are resistant to graffiti but there are also other coatings used for non stick pans etc.
I have read previously on this forum(I think) that some paints containing teflon are suitable to stop roaches climbing, that is what i want to know about.
I already know about vaseline and fluon, i have used both but i want something that is safe to use with frogs.

good luck, when you find it you'll make a fortune. Be sure to let all the insect scientists know as the only thing used is fluon! You will not be able to purchase straight teflon because of patent arrangements (du-pont). Plus the formulation would probably need modifying for the use you desire!
Just use a fishtank with an overlapping mesh lid to keep your roaches in, then no need for anything. Simply bang the lid down knock of all the roaches and quickly pick them out.
Have you done a forum search? If that's where you read about the paint!
