Hi...I own a jungle python and he is at about breeding age.....I was wondering if anyone can give me a rundown on how they are kept during winter....temps, feeding etc

may seem like a silly question but i have to ask it

I wouldn't recommend turning off all it's heat during winter even if it is getting a few hours a week, jungles are a tropical python it doesn't get anywhere near as cold up there as it does in NSW.

Cool him down to around 25-26c day temp and 18-20c night temp, there is no need to feed him during winter.

When I lived in Cairns it got down to 9 degrees ............. once. The average winter night temp was about 18 . I wouldn't let the temp get below 15 for more than a couple of nights in a row

Could replace the heat source with a 40watt blue or red globe

This being my first winter with the kids, what temperature would you keep Childrens and a Diamond at through winter.

I was thinking the diamond's should be switched off all together since they are from colder parts. Is that wrong?

Thanks

No Diamonds are a hardy snake and the best looking ones I have ever seen were kept in an outside enclosure on the central coast of NSW
