I am receiving my very first reptile as a pet tomorrow and I just wanted to say thankyou to all of you. I have spent hours reading through all the info and advice you have given each other and used it to set myself up well in advance. I hope one day I will be able to have the same impact on a beginner. |

haha, well i will be brutally honest and say that the main reason i got a coastal is because i am impatient it was the easiest to get in a short amount of time. but i am truly excited and have loved carpets for a long time. i am open to any and all advice on the quality of other species as pets as well, im not stopping at 1! what kind of reptile lover would i be if i stopped at 1...

Our first snake was a Coastal carpet and while we have more now, Slinky is still our favourite. We've had her the longest and we love her to bits. I don't think it matters what you get, as long as you love it. I'm terrible when it comes to emotional attachments to my animals, lol.

I would have to say they really are the best handlers of all my snakes !
I have 4 coastals an adult pair and 2 yearling females .I think he will love me more in 2 years time lucky bugger

That's awesome that you read through the old threads to get advice, I think that's the best way when you have so many questions as a beginner. Good luck with your first snake.
