Thermostat Help!

My brother has a spare thermostat he said I could have, It is like the Basic Thermostat I have seen for sale on a few sites but it looks a little different, I am not going to get it for a few days but I need to know how it is set up?

Does the light wire into the thermostat? Does the thermostat just plug into the wall?

Any help would be great, Thanks.

I think it is IMIT, it doesn't have a probe it i just placed inside the enclosure, It should look close to this:

Here is a writeup on the above one:

This thermostat works by gas filled bellows which operate SPDT switching contacts, similar to others on the market. This thermostat comes with a great new look with installation instructions and mounting screws. This will save you time as there will be no trip to the hardware shop with this thermostat. Should be wired up by a licenced electrician.Temperature range of 0 – 30 deg C

The diagram i attached is the wiring diagram, exactly the way i have mine set up.

i have a flexible 3 core cable plugged into a socket (to power the theromstat and lamp/mat), and a 3 core flexible cable going to plug top (so you can plug what ever you want in).

place the thermostat into the tank/vivarium, when its below the set temp the contacts will close and the heat source will come on, when its reached set temp the contacts will open again and switch off the heat source.
