Thermostat Probe Repair?

Hi peopleWould anyone be able to please tell me where I can buy a new sensor for the probe on my thermostat? I accidently pulled it a bit too hard when I was taking it out of an
enclosure & would really like to fix it rather than have to buy another new thermostat. Thanks in advance

You probably just need to reconnect the wires

unless its a fluid filled then it's cactus

It's not fluid filled & I have tried to re-connect it but it's crushed too badly.Would Dick Smith or a similar electronics place sell them?

What sort is it exactly? Post a pic of the carnage.
If it's just the wires that are squished you can cut that bit out

Is it a microclimate one or the one with the black box?

It's a microclimate, it has a little ball shape sensor on the end of the wires which has been crushed & one of the wires is completely snapped so I am hoping to be able to just buy the sensor if that makes any sense

You'll need to find out the part number of the thermocouple (the little ball shaped thing) before it can be replaced.
You sure the damage is not in the wires? Seems almost impossible to destroy a thermocouple in the manner you describ

I did exactly the same thing and I sent an email to Microclimate to ask what type of thermister (ball bit) I needed to replace. They sent me a whole new lead free of charge! All I had to do when it arrived was solder the new lead back onto the main unit itself. So contact them through their website and they might do the same for you.
