Time from Pre-lay shed?

Hi all,
Ive got a spotted that has gone 26 days from pre-lay, she is in her box and should happen shortly, but I read 21-25 is the range.
Has anyone had a spotted go longer than 25?
cheers

RE: Time from Pre-lay shed?

Ad, normally it is around the 24 to 26 day mark, but I have had them go as long as 31 days. Hope all goes well for you with her.

RE: Time from Pre-lay shed?

thanks bigguy, I intend to leave her be for a few more days if she needs it, she just looks so ready, Im expecting it anytime, I would start getting very concerned at 31 days though!!

Ad, have you supplied a humid substrate for her to lay in. Either damp vermiculite or damp peat moss. If its too dry, she may try to withhold laying.

RE: Time from Pre-lay shed?

;-)

Our female had what I expect to be her pre lay shed a couple of days ago. The interesting thing is that soon after the slough they were copulating again.

She had been doing the belly up thing under the spot light and has been acting and looking like she was gravid.

A short time later they were out and about basking on a log... they even took a drink together which was really cute with their heads side by side at the water bowl. As short time after this they were back in their hide box with their tails together again... as Sadji can attest to as he was visiting at the time.

Judy keeps refering to them as teenagers because they are always "at it"
