Turtle Question

Hi all
I am curious if people co-habitate their turtles with other animals such as gold fish or other marine animals? I know Goldfish are waste factories but peoples opinions would be appreciated. I am thinking of getting a baby turtle and the Goldfish are comets which are about 15-20cm in length.

Appreciate any informed opinion.

Cheers

Davo

I was kinda thinking that the size of the Goldfish would discourage a baby turtle from causing any real damage. Fully understand a larger turtle would cause some issues but as i said thought the goldfish might be more threat to the turtle then the other way around. Thanks though for your post, it's always a learning curve hearing other peoples views.

Cheers

no matter what size turtles will still try and attack it and will evntually kill by stress, destroying its fins or eating it whole.
it best just to have two of the same species of turtles together if you want your turtle to have a friend.

mine lives with assorted fish....

they just get replaced frequently...
they make up the bulk of her diet.

even if they are quite a bit bgger than her, she bites their tails, and shreds them with her claws, and eats the pieces.

she does the same to the yabbies she also lives with.

in the process of setting up a breeding colony of platies, which will eventually move in with her... as they look prettier than feeders, easier to breed... and i had a spare tank!
