This isn't super urgent, but i need to purchase these globes asap, as my other ones are too hot for my new enclosure - so they have no heat at the moment. Just wondering what the difference is between an:
Oz Moon Nocturnal Globe
& an
Oz Purple Night Globe
(Both pictured below). Whats the difference in these 2 globes? Im looking for a night time one, like a nocturnal viewing one, where i can see the animals but the light doesnt disturb them. To me it would be the nocturnal globe, but ive got a completely different NIGHT-GLO globe, that immitates the moon light for night viewing. So im dang confused. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

whereas the 'oz moon' is like an ordinary bulb, putting off heat in all directions....

| | | Ummm… Good question. Actually I think the only thing different is the shapes (unless there really is a hidden difference). I’ve actually used both but from what I can tell they call the one in the first pic “Oz Moon” because they say on the site it is shaped like the moon. I actually thought the difference was that one came in a lot higher wattages (which I was wrong about). With the ones in the 2nd pic apparently they’re just supposed to put out purple light (which the Oz Moon does too funnily enough) and there is a difference between them as you can get either a smaller bulb version or a larger version of the Oz Purple Nights. Hope that helps some |

QUOTE: "I have a job at the most upmarket department store in Australia!"
I said the most upmarket department store not pet store, go on, check it this time!! I dont work at a pet store anymore, and even if I did, we didn't have many reptile related products. Thanks for the advice Melgalea, URS replied to my email explaining the differences, at least some people offer help instead of critisism. Chriscool its a new enclosure and i was trying out spare bulbs i had, im not even going to bother going any further into it. People ask questions on here to get it right, not to be flamed down by rude immature judgmental people like yourselves. If your going to be mean about it at least get it right, both of you, god!

"Immature judgmental?" Maybe you should have a look in the mirror before you start saying things like this.
I refered to the "Pet Shop" comment, never to the "Most upmarket Pet Shop" comment.
Plus I still stand by my comment "If you used thermostats you wouldn't have this problem"
