hey mate generally the rule is no, however some keepers say diamond pythons should have uv light but that is another debateable topic of dps which intern leads to people keeping diamonds with uv light and still getting dps and proclaim that its due to heating the diamond above it natural environment which seems more likely.

I use UV. Not because my snake needs it, but because in the wild he would receive sunlight. He doesn't get natural sunlight often and this is what I like to do.

Snakes do NOT need UV, but supplying it will do no harm, except to your budget...
FNQ Snake - when writing the scientific names of the snakes you desire to own, the genus (Morelia, Liasis etc.,) is always denoted with a capital, but the species and subspecies names (amethystina, viridis etc.,) are ALWAYS lower case, just for you information...

Pythoninfinite, thanks for the information mate. I will make the necessary changes. ;-)
I use UV though to simulate daylight. The costs are minimal, a mate of mine worked it out to be about 28.3 cents per day give or take a drum of oil or two. ;-)

a reptisun 10.0 costs me $0.11 a day.
it isnt that much of a budget buster !! ROFL.. there is no reason why you cant stretch a uv over 2-3 click clacks or enclosures. i dont see why not provide it. its natural. it does NOT cost 'that' much.
