vents

ive made my roof for my enclosure so im going to cut holes for vents how big do the holes have to be for the vents ..im going to cut the vents in the roof is that ok? this is my enclosure my heat sourse is on the right of the roof and im going to cut vents in the left .. how big should they be .. the roof is 97 cm - 38 cm

i put vents on the side so not much heat is lost but on top is alright

is the roof the only place u can put it, you may find that u loose to much heat

oh i might be able to put the vents on the side just under the roof does it matter how big they are? could i do a small one?

well each side is 34cm - 9 cm could i cut a vent in there

I am in the same boat as you in researching the building of my first enclosure and found a reference by another member as to using sink strainers from Reject shop glued in place as covers for a vent. Seemed like a good economical idea to me and may suit the upper sides of your enclosure above the glass. Just an idea.

you can get small round snap lock vents that fit into a drilled hole, 3 or 4 would do

have a look at the plastic and metal vents that bunnings sell thats what i use on my enclosures their cheap and easy to fit.

Most plastic vents come with templates to assist you in cutting the right sized hole. I think a hole in the roof of your enclosure would let out a lot of heat...

go into my started threads to you come across finally finished my girls enclosure you can see the vents there .bought them from bunnings 2 in a pack for $3.30 and used a 28 mm spade drill bit to drill holes hope this helps

could i just have a rectangle full of holes? just say an rectangle 70mm - 150mm , 4mm holes with a 20mm gap inbetween each hole?would that be ok for a vent? and do like 2 of these rectangles on each side front, back, left ,right?
