Vermiculaite/Water Ratio For Woma Eggs

Hi All

What's the Vermiculite to water ratio that people use for incubating Woma eggs - still the 1:1 ratio by weight as per carpets or 60:40 (60% vermiculite to 40% water by weight)?

Cheers
David

I dont even use the 1.1 ratio for carpets, its much safer and better to incubate everything a little dryer than that, 60% vermiculite to 40% water should be fine.
i dont know the exact ratio i use as i do it by feel.

David, just make sure there is NO more than the SLIGHTEST bit of condensation in the egg container, even then keep wiping it out,(or add a bit more dry vermiculite), so that no condensation appears, but if you give the mixture a couple more squirts of water a very small, fine amount condensation will appear. This is a perfect mix for incubating pretty much everything.
Carpets etc, will do fine with the TINY bit of condensation, but bhps, womas, olives etc will do better if it is backed of so that no condensation appears.

One more question - do people oven dry their vermiculite first?
