Question vet mistake??

Hey all! As some of you may know already I took my bredli to the vet for suspected mouth rot which it was but caught really early so should clear ok but thats another story.
However as he was about to shed in the next week or two his skin was loose so the vet thought he'd peel some off! I wish I asked why he did that but now where the new skin was exposed (too early im thinking) it has got REALLY dry and cracked! Tonight I rubbed olive oil into it to try and get some moisture into the cracks etc but Im worried that he is now going to be scared for life???
What do you all think and what can I do to help??

That Im not too sure about. He did say something about being his new skin being healthy and slightly moist. I need to see A vet this week. Just wondering who most would suggest inthe Melbourne/east subs?

Awwww, that sounds horrible. Sorry can't help you with a vet but in the wikki part of this site there's some numbers for vets if you look there (one for each state). Sounds strage he wanted to peel his skin back, hope the poor thing gets better.

my mac scratched up her belly pretty bad once trying to get a she off while i was on holidays once and i used vitamn E cream which was really good. helps with the healing and keeps it moisturised as well

I dont really understand why you rubbed oil into it at all.

Oil will just creat a hydrophobic area, ergo inhibiting the moisture.
