Thanks

Thanks Mel. This is the second in 6 months. The first being a Central Bearded Dragon female which had folicle stasis. That was hard but it is nothing compared with Ollie.

Makes me want to shut up the shed and sell off everything. P'd off to the max

IMO animal illness is so hard to deal with for the owner of the pet, because the animal cant express anything in words as such.

2 years ago i had a 6yo Pitbull get very sick with a bacteria on her brain (very sudden) her vet bills cost me $7000 in 6 days........ she got worse, i put her down 3 days later.

I know how your feeling mate

Best wishes mate. keep your chin up. Im sure you will do what is best. I hate losing animals but i hate watching them suffer even more.

You'd be even worse off if you closed your shed up all together. And your wife would probably murder you for being around ot annoy her more

mate there are good times and there are bad times, this is a very bad time but there will always be something to cheer you up there will be more animals to come, although none can take ollies place, there will be another that you will love just as much if not more. in my opinion this is an excuse to get more reptiles not sell up and not bother anymore.

Sorry to hear shamous. I recently lost one of my snakes and cried for over an hour when I discovered her. I was heartbroken. I even lost it when our local ranger called me back regarding a query I had at the time - poor guy, he didn't know what to say. A lot of people said to me "it's just a snake" but to me they are all part of my family and we spend a lot of time with them each day, to lose that is sad. Sorry mate...

Update

Thanks for all the wishes guys and gals.

I asked my wife to take him to the Vet today and she just got back home from there.

It was hardest decision to make but I did'nt want to wait any longer. He deserved not to be in pain.

My wife hates snakes but even she was crying when she got home as she knew how much he meant to us.

Peter is a great Vet, especially when it comes to reptiles. He owns quite a few. He has a no bull**** attitude and won't make you spend hundreds of dollars if he does not think it is worth it.

Got to go to my nephews birthday now. Don't feel like it but might have a few drinks and think of my mate.
