visiting Ipswich

G,day, anyone in the Ipswich area, I will be there on the 24+25 of may and would like to know if there are any herp shops/breeders or any other herp places that I could visit while I,m there. I am interested in breeders/sellers in case the inevitable happens and I buy a rep over the net and will have an idea what to expect. I live in sth aussie and will be flying there so not much chance of bringing anything back.
Thanks in advance ajler

Not to much in Ipswch, the only pet shop with herps at the moment is at Bundamba and they're a bit over priced, $100 for a bearded dragon $300 for a hatchling spotted python and$400 for a yearling. I don't know of any breeders but I'll check.

Head out towards Boonah/Fernvale/anywhere outside of the CBD, and have a hunt around near the creeks. You might come across some Browns, Whips, Taipans, Red Bellies (lucky), and if you're even luckier, a Spotted Black.

You won't find much that won't kill you. Just watch out for the toothless, mullet-sporting, footy jersey wearing, XE Falcon driving inbreds who will bash you for your shoes.

If your looking for wild herps you could always go to this place called Tucker's dam in Bellbird Park, there are a few turtles there and you'll probably see a red belly or two, I'll ask my brother where it is.

There's also a good chance you'll get arrested, because Tuckers is private property and they are REALLY cracking down on people going in there. I know...I have been chased atleast a dozen times by cops on dirtbikes...

There aren't any dedicated herp shops but a few of the pet shops have started getting some products in. As for breeders a good place to look is in the weekend shopper. It services a wide area tho so they might not actually be in Ipswich. If u have the time I'd go looking around brisbane as well. I bought my python off a guy in Marsden.

Thanks for your replise everyone. I wont have time to go bush looking for any reps but it sounds to dangerous anyway with them toothless mullets on the prowl. I,ll try to have a look around Brisbane .If I can find Bundamba I,ll have alook there as well I dont recon I have time to chase any one up through the paper Ella but thanks anyway. Thanks again for your replise everyone.
