Keeping reptiles is just an excuse for me to keep smelly rats and run up my power bill.

They can hold quite a good conversation too, even with a mouth full of food.

Got into Herps through watching them as a kid. Once got into trouble when I was about 14 (16 years ago), cause I saw two kids about my age bashing a poor Diamond with a stick. I took the stick off them and hit one of them with it (pretty hard). They ran away and I took the snake home. Dad took it to the Vet and after several weeks, the vet and I re-released it in the same general area. I have the X-ray of that snake still today.

I used to live in in the mountains above Wollongong and loved nothing more than watching herps in the wild. I can remember seeing Diamond python's out and about on the coldest days of winter. They could even be sometimes seen in freezing cold water. I've never figured that out.

liked animals when i was little used to catch garter snakes and aligator lizards in vancouver. used to keep them for a couple days, longer as i go older(only longer with the skinks i coudlnt' feed the snakes and they smelled ect).

probably what really hooked me was when i caught two fat ones and kept them over the winter to find out they were prego! i got to release 12 extra healthy little skinks.

My mother in law doesn't like snakes, so I bought one.
She doesn't visit as often.
I now love snakes.

stoopid reason to buy a reptile... however highly effective in its purpose.
