Newspaper for the large enclosures. Paper Towel for hatchy tubs.

I am going to experiment with Aspen when I get my BHP's and Woma's.

I use 'Back-To-Nature 'which is similar to 'Breeders Choice', being a compressed recycled paper pellet but apparently has less dust and rubbish in it than 'Breeders Choice' (I've never seen or used BC, I can only go by the reptile breeders advice).

I give it a quick sift outside in the breeze to blow away any dust that's in it and I find it good for absorbing urine and spilt water. I have no troubles with humidity as it doesn't seen critical for my Inland (MD) Carpet and I move the water dish over to the warm side for the duration of shedding.

Theres been mention of pine here. I thought pine wasn't good because of the oils in the wood, which is why Aspen bedding is quite commonly used???

Newspaper. Looks crap, but it's free and so easy to clean.

I, too, use marine carpet (for my python). I think I've managed to make it look almost natural

For my gecko I use red reptile sand, for the frog I use marine carpet (but most of the floor is taken up by a water dish and rock. For my bearded I use the ground walnut shell desert blend...

I use Newspaper and papertowel (depending on the size of the tub/enclosure) for my snakes and lizards, because its cheap, easy, and hygenic and they dont end up eating it. I use breeders choice for my rodents tho...as they are more dirty and soil more frequently, and it is really good at absorbing their urine and keeps the smell to a minimum. breeders choice is probably the expensive way to do it, but I like it and prefer it to shavings etc. I use shredded newspaper as the nesting material on top of that for the rodents. Hope that helps with ur endeavors.

P.S. I forgot to tick papertowel and shredded newspaper lol.

Newspaper, and I had glow-in-the-dark sand for my snake (it was white, it looked really good). When my bearded gets older, I'll put him on washed beach sand.

I used to use Marine Carpet and I still love it, BUT, I now use Aspen, so easy to spot clean etc and no problem with ingestion so far and I've been using it well over a 12 month.

VixenBabe, if you are only going to experiment with it I'd be doing it on cheaper snakes than the Aspidites Just for your piece of mind I keep all my BHP's and Womas on it and no problem so far.

Animal Beddings

I thought i would show you guys a couple of pics of my stuff, The blue's have had the same litter comming up on 3 months, i just spot clean and top up once a month. Its easy to do, and its all bio-degradeable. I put it out to everyone to try the Comfey pet pine cat litter at least once, after all you can always go back.
I think it gives a much more natural look and its enviromentaly friendly!

As for the pine, i have looked into it, and because its pelletised the steaming process takes all the nasties out. if any are missed the heat from forming the pellet gets the rest.
