Generally bagged in a solid ventilated container inside an esky or polystyrene box with holes for air.

When you say 'send', do people send things via Australia Post??? I would have thought only a courier or 'pet shipping' places would do it?

The best I have had sent to me was bagged and inside a plastic tool/craft box which had flat foam cut and around the sides, top and bottom with holes through the sides. Labelled on the outside "live animal, Keep cool"

when i got Savanna, she was sent up from SA and she was in a small solid foam esky completely sealed bar some air holes with live animal and handle with care on it. she was inside a calico bag with a whole bunch of shredded newspaper to keep her comfortable on the flight over...

it boggles the mind as to why on earth you'd put a rock in with the hatchling.... boggles my mind anyway
