sliding glass is good! and by central carpet im assuming you mean centralian python (morelia bredli)?
i have mine in 5ft x 2ft x 2ft enclosures

your best bet mate is to make it out of ply or melamine then use glass in the front (just like the ones you help me build  ) and a 5x2x2 is way to big for a juvie bredlie and i thought you where getting a coastal not bredlie

I think MDF is a better material to work with. It will need several coats of paint/varnish to be sealed well.
I use glass sliding doors but a better option would be a hinged door front with a glass panel.
You also haven't told us the size of your snake. If it's a hatchling/juvenile you may want to consider keeping it in a small tub half on a heat mat until it starts growing to a larger size.

5foot enclosure sounds good but are you getting an adult or a baby? 5foot would be too big for a baby - it may cause him to be timid, snappy and just hide all the time.
Tank should be at least half the length of your snake, and being a carpet he'd like some height or branches to climb.
