What the?

I found this thing when i was leaving work today, it's the biggest bloody grasshopper i've ever seen. Anyone know what it is? Big spikes all over it's legs, nasty looking bugger.
The pic ain't the best but it took off just after the first pic.

It is a cross between the pan-asian locustus asianus and the North african saharan locius. Somtimes carried on the sea winds to different parts of the globe. There is mention of the in Asterix and Oblix and the black gold.

p.s. Joking, Looks Like a regular green grasshopper that we see in Barbados all the time

My hubby reckons its called a Katydid, a cross between a cricket and a grasshopper, and they do a lot of damage to fruit crops. Cheers Cheryl. PS. Not quite sure about the spelling.
