what the?????

hey guys,
i was holding my snake today and i just started wondering were his heart is.i know it's sort of weired but i think it would be interesting to know, if you do know can you please tell me? thanks cya

I think that I read it was either the snakes hear or lungs but they can move all up and down the snakes body.

Here's a picture I used when I took my pythons to school and taught the kids about herps. They absolutely loved it and learned heaps.

i used to work as a vet nurse. we once had to do surgery on a diamond python. so it was very interesting monitoring the anesthetic on a snake.

Yeah - it would be a bit difficult to use standard respiration rates or toe pinch reflexes to monitor the depth of anaesthesia...

Next time your snake has it's underside pressed up against the glassfront of it's enclosure have a good look and you should be able to see it's heart beating.
