g'day blair.. there was a post about this in the hints & tips section
< http://www.aussiepythons.com/index.p...ic&t=13573 >
IMO i beleive in a man made incubator rather than letting the herps incubate the eggs themselves as this
creates more problems and is somewhat less successful.

a commercial incubator would be very expensive.. i get a friend to incubate mine for me. you could possibly build one which is cost effective, < http://www.aussiepythons.com/index.p...pic&t=4431 >. Old fridges have been used as incubators, have a search around google and you will be sure to get a few ideas.

of couirse they can do it themselves how you think they do it in the wild!
the only down fall is that the females loses heaps of weight cause she doesnt eat for quite some time
could be a hassel to put back on and you will probly miss next breeding season as a result

cheers
ben,......

i allowed my female coastal to marternal incubate last season and it was a 95% hatch rate
cheers

it depends on what your breeding, some lizards have live birth but anything that has eggs would be better to use an incubator

You can use the female to incubate the eggs in any egg laying snake without health problems you just need to give her a break the next breeding season.

Hope that helps
