You would have to apply through the Department of Environment and Conservation, however i already know the answer you will get. Generally you will require some sort of herpetoogical qualifications, or be linked with a herpetological group or institution. You have to apply for a scientific license detailing the intention and methodology of your study.

Good Luck

Basically you are going to have to be part of a university, or associated faculty of.

The paper work is emmense.

You have to a number of analyses before you even think of stepping foot on anywhere.

Not to mention you will have to submit a study outline before you even get the application.

it appears that you are only 13, (thats what it says in your file)

So my advise, what you want to do, while insightful, at the present time may not be practical for you.... at the present time. If you go to uni in the area, and do any courses in bio or ecology etc, you should be able to make one of your final year projects based on this idea.

But this is just the field study side of things.

Before you even start a field study you will need to do a literary study, and there is nothing stopping you from doing that. Do it properly and that will tie you up for about 3 months.

It is good to see the enthusiasm and wish you all the best.

Maybe even email some of the universities as they are regularly doing these types of studies and may need crew? Someone to hold the camera/help check traps and such?
