Hi everyone
My male Stimi (See attached pic) is 14 months old and around 56 cm. His name is Terry. I know there are different varieties of Stimi's based on locality, but I am not sure where my Stimi's forebears would have originated.
Can someone please help? I would love to breed him one day, but would want to only breed him with a female from the same region.
Sorry about the poor quality of the pics.
Cheers in advance
Matt

i would say tennant creek, SA or as said around Mt Isa. maby a pic out side in the sun would help because some localities have similair patterning but vary slightly in colour. nice snake anyway.

| Thats the spirit! Keep things locality pure! In future though, it's much easier to get snakes of known locality from a breeder who is also fastidious about the locality of his lines.
Southern Cross has a few lines of locality pure stimmies! Maybe keep the one you have now as a pet as he is very nice, but of unknown lines, and use this as an excuse to get a nice pair of known locality stimsoni.

I would say that the only way you could tell with any sort of assurances you would have to ask the breeder.

That is a good looking enclosure set up you have, what substrate is that you are using?

Thanks everyone for their help.
The substrate is desert sand. I know sand isn't the best thing to sue, but I find that this sand tends to clump hard when liquid touches it. The enclosure is a just a 3 foot fishtank witn pine stand and hood converted for a reptile.
