where is the best place to position the thermostat

where is the best place to position the thermostat for the ceramic heat globes?
all my other cages are positioned on the far right, is it better to position the thermostat in the middle of the cage?

RE: where is the best place to position the thermostat

not sure about ceramics but i have a thermo down the cold end in one cage and in another cage i have one in the middle, u just have to set the thermostat to how hot u want it to be where the thermostat is placed. (so if its in the cold end u set it for how hot u want it to be down that end).

Redline

Stick your thermostat up the hot end and set temp and thus other end will naturally be the cool end (if you put therm at cool end and set temp, how hot does the basking end of cage get??)much better to set hot end with thermostat, then you know how hot your basking end of enclosure is. Just my opion.

Thankx;

Put it in the middle mate, set to 28 degrees and you know one end will be hotter and the other will be cooler, but it really doesn't matter and also depends on your enclosure shape.

It's all relevent to what you are housing redline. If you are housing monitors you would want a hotspot of 50 degrees so you would need the thermostat down towards the cool end as the thermostat won't reach 50 degrees, if it is for a diamond python you would put it at the hot end as you don't want them any hotter than about 28 degrees.

Yeah good stuff huggy!.

Ive got mine for my coastal underneath the ceramic and set to my (his) desired temp. That just means that the cool end is as cool as it can be in my house.
