win some, lose some

My female diamond pre shed 2 weeks ago. This morning i noticed what looked to be a slough in the hide, apon investigating this is what i found (pics) 8 sloughs.
This is the first time this has happened and so early too, any ideas from anyone?
She appears to still have some eggs in her so i've left her along and i'll check tommorrow.
You win some you lose some, nature is powerful ,
though atleast i've got coastal and childreni egg about to hatch. (finger crossed)

Can't wait to move back to brisbane at the end of this month so i can shut them down properly over the cooler period (a proper winter). Good bye NT hello QLD

8 sloughs? Don't you mean 8 eggs? Or 8 slugs?

I think he means 8 slugs.

This is usually due to being too warm at the wrong time (incorrect cooling). Or even too warm during egg development.

they have been kept in A/C the whole time though in the NT it is a problem trying to cool them though, next season shouldn't be a problem as i'm moving with work from the NT back to Brisvegas so cooling in winter shouldn't pose any problems, just have to wait for next season with this girl.
Is it unusual to retain eggs? She seem to have a few left. I check this afternoon and no more were dropped, i'm just leaving her along for a while. Bred quite a few other species. 1st time i've encounted this.

infertile egg, not what you wan to see when trying to breed.
Unfortuneatly cooling the males enough to produce viable sperm in the tropics can be tricky as we don't get the temps low enough, next year shouldn't be a problem though.
She still appears to have some eggs still in the abodomin???
I'll keep all informed of what happens next......

Agreed.

The eggs looks so.. weird. I guess they're like that because they didn't develop properly.

yommy,- that egg that is white but part slug,(on one end), may hatch, ive hatched heaps of eggs over the years that were part slug like that. The other white one may be ok to, as a rule daimond eggs are only fairly small.
