woma question

I was just wondering why womas are still so expensive. I mean its not like there rare in captivity anymore yet hatchlings are still going for over a grand i just cant see a reason as to why they still cost so much as everyone seems to have them . Any ideas as to why this is the case?
Thanks guys.

RE: woma question

Until you've owned one you will never understand, I waited 17 years to get my first Woma. It was worth the wait.

RE: woma question

Expensive are you kidding?
I have seen them advertised recently for $2300 a pair & $2600 a pair and they are still available.

I am actually dissapointed they are dropping in value. There goes my retirement fund

Some are cheap but good ones are still over $3000 a pair.

So John Weigals are not good 1's?
He is only asking $2600 a pair atm. And with prices like that I can see the market dropping.

I don't know I haven't seen them. It's no different to any snake, you can pay $300 for a Jungle or $800, same with BHP's some were saying they would be $500-600 last season but they were still by and large around 1k.

I suppose its a matter of opinion- if you want it that bad or like it that much you will pay whatever you can for them. My first pair were $3450 and they were worth every cent and then some. They are stunning but they have terrific temperaments as well and have alot of character. I would've paid anything for the first two i got. I now have six so i guess you could say i see something special in womas.

You will find that the W.A locality pacific captive bred woma's will be probably be the most expensive due to the fact that are not yet commonly available. Tanami womas have become a lot cheaper than they used to be and that is what most people are producing.

Theres a few pics of some on the herptrader. URS are selling pairs for $2300 a pair and they too are good lookers. (neither are the best quality but they are very far from the worse)

Southern X have Topaz Tanami's for $2200 EACH and I think they are all pre sold. They are individuals and vary enormously.
