|  | Subscriber | Join Date: May-06 Location: redneck wonderland | | | | mdf used to have heaps of formaldehyde as the basis for the glue holding it together, formaldehyde gas is an irratant and possible carcinogen. After stacks of sickness in the states where it was used as a house lining it got a bad reputation. mdf out here now has a lot less formaldehyde. I find it great for enclosures, but it is really dense and therefore heavy stuff. If you want to make it waterproof you can line it with contac plastic...the stuff school kids use on their books. |
