Bearded Dragon vs Pygmy Bearded Drgaon
I was just wanting to see peoples opinions on what they consider to be better.
I have kept Bearded Dragons before and they are such beautiful personalities
I would like to find out peoples thoughts.

from what i've heard the pygmys arent as friendly as the big ones.
Some people are like slinkys, not really good fro anything, but still bring a smile to ur face when u push them down a flight of stairs,....
-
I don't know if I agree with that. I don't think they have quite the personality as the larger ones, although some will disagree with that too.
They are cuter though - and I don't care what anyone else says!!!

Are you able to hold them like you do a Beardie? Do they come in colours? Sorry if these sound like odd questions I am trying to make a tough decision. I have space for either so it is not due to restrictions just which

Pygymies are heap cuter but I am totally biased

The reason I chose to keep and breed pygmies over centrals was really driven by their space and food requirements. I also didnt want to just follow the crowd. You can feed 3 pygmy beardies for the same amount it takes to feed a central and of course they will comfortably live and breed in a 3 ft tank. I wouldnt dream of putting an adult central in such a small enclosure.
Granted that pygmies dont come in the range of colours that centrals do, but that is just a matter of time. Given that they breed at 10 months old (when fed enough) it wont take long to get through a few generations and add some colour.
In the end if you cant decide just get both

I think the pigmies are the cutest little things and they are full of character......they get brighter and duller with their moods and when you get one that eats they can also eat like a central.......I think they are much better and yes they can be handled.

This isa pic of my mates pigmy.....
How could you go past this little fellow...............

Pygmies are much cuter. Don't need as much food or space and yes they can be handled without any issues.
That is my view anyway but that is because I own one and not normal centrals.

i want 2 if any one knows of any for sale
thanks

i have both kinds and they are great they all handle great and sometimes the pygmys are more exciting to watch

i agree with people that pygmys are a lot cute than centrals and are also a small enclosure.i have handled a adult pygmy that was hardly ever handled and it didn't seem to bad as good as a central.there colours may not be as nice or as bright but they do have a nice colour to them

I've always kept central beardies and have only just come across the pygmy as my local pet shop has just got some in and their the most adorable little things
i'd say their so cute they'd even appeal to a non reptile lover
but i've never seen an adult in person! are they still as cute?
and what size viv would i be best getting if i were to get two for breading?
it's so hard to get info on them, you type in 'Pygmy Bearded Dragon' and it still comes up with results for the centrals
