    Can snakes sense other snakes?

Hay all! So my GF had my stimmi (8mths) out tonight and I got my jungle (4mths old) out just a bit after. we where sitting at opposite ends of the coach and after 10 minutes or so medusa (stimmi) started acting sorta weird like being still and sorta flattening herself out, she eventually snapped out of it but just thought it was little different, suppose some weird actions are To be expected as that was the first time they've Seen each other, they didnt come in close contact or anything. luci my jungle wasn't worried at all lol and also after I put luci back I hold medusa and it's like she can smell the sent of my jungle even tho iv washed my hands?! Not worried at all, just any insight would be interesting cheers!

    Touche!

From what I have learned about snakes, I would say from a wiff of even the trail left by another snake (mammal/reptile) a snake would know exactly what snake (or animal) left the trail, how long ago, which direction it went etc.... and would prolly recognise it if it came apon it again (or tracked it down)

So yes, I am sure they are very, very aware of other snakes.... what I would love to know tho, is are they aware of themselves? A mates snake tried to eat itself.... tail first.... he had to resque it... from itself

I have also seen snakes bite onto themselves..... and take ages to stop.... I wonder if they realise it is them biting themselves, or they just think "maybe if I stop biting this one.... the one that is biting me might let me go?"
