I am sorry to say that it sounds like you have been advised by some very misguided newbie and an incompetent vet.
    Good luck with it.

Also, I don't think he'd be holding onto much considering he only ate pinkies...
    So I'd just feed him...

Would be worried about treating him for parasites when there's been no sign of them however

The vet gave me this stuff that's like an all in one treatment, it's for mites, worms, nutrition, everything really.
The vet said his healthy he just needs some mending,, he was a bit neglected and underfed b4 I got him.
You should probably also mention that he is a 17 month old Spotted, who was previously being fed one pinky *mouse* per fortnight. These factors will greatly affect the advice you receive.

Having said that, my 5 month old Childreni has 2 pinky mice per week and you can hardly see his poops - There is literally nothing of it. Is it possible the poop is hidden in substrate, etc. ?

Did the vet do a fecal float to verify the snake is carrying parasites?

Do not worry about the snake not pooping just give it a feed with panacur injected into the item or just feed with no meds. The fact it has been feeding on pinks would be the reason why you are not seeing any poop.

because most captive bred snakes dont require worming hun. hence ramsayi asking if he did a fecal float.

I am not judging, I gave you my opinion and quite clearly. I already explained why I thing the vet was wrong.

snakes don't poop on a timetable, and as already said, being that he is feeding on pinkies his poos will only be tiny.

Good move.Just feed every 5 days or so and forget about it not pooping,it will soon enough once you upsize his feeds. As far as giving meds go a good rule is DO NOT unless there is an obvious need.

Ok sweet thanks heaps for your help, as I've only ever owned a cat and dog and we just wormed them every so often it never harmed so I just thought same goes for any animal, but I guess not haha. So even if he dosnt poop still feed and that won't make him sick ?

Yes, but you need to also specify mouse & not rat, as there is a *bit* of a difference between the two.

Have you tried weighing him (Montie) ? They say that a good rule of thumb is to offer 15-20% of total body weight in food item. Weighing him will give you a good indication of how much food to feed him.
