RE: Spotted baby python that wont eat
Try braining the pinkie, peirce a hole in its head and spread the blood/brain over it. fresh killed is better for thisn since it will bleed, although a frozen thawed will/may also work. good luck, dont be too concerned, two weeks is nothing. If this dosent work immediatly, leave the hatchy alone for further 2 weeks, no handling then try again.

i had a baby childrens python that would not eat so i opened its mouth put the pinky in and when it was 3/4 of the way down it started to do it itself.
had no trouble after that.
try leaving it alone with a pinky for 12 hours or so.

RE: Spotted baby python that wont eat
What ever you do, dont assist feed or force feed. And those pinky pumps are crap. If it hatched out of the egg as a healthy baby then it will feed when it is ready. Is it being keep the same way as the others ? Have you tried live pinkies ? They often work when nothing else will. As long as the snakes happy with how its being kept then its only a matter of time. Be patient and dont pester it with food too often.
The first thing you notice about a Lace Monitor is how reptilian they look. Immensely powerful, they possess all the skills of a crack SAS outfit - camouflage, strength, speed and rat cunning. -Steve Waters.

The voice of reason!
Symba, welcome to the site. You should be able to work out for yourself which ppl give good advice. It is much easier to criticise than it is to create, that's why so many people do it.

RE: Spotted baby python that wont eat
I had a hatchie coastal that refused to eat pinkies so I tried one that was half fuzzie and she nailed it quick as a flash. She struggled to eat them because of the size but she would only eat them and not pinkies.

RE: Spotted baby python that wont eat
Hi Symba, you said it and i agree, dont panic. You seem to know the various methods, plus you've been given some good advice, they can take some time. Just keep it warm and try not to handle it, let it settle down. Turn out the lights just after dark, try the 'gecko-tail', if it eats it, give it a day or two and smear the 'G'-tail over a small pinkie and try it again. Persist it should eat soon. By the way Symba if you were trying to reach me, you can phone me on the number you have just put (07) in front of it; in the arvo's the best, leave a message and i will get back to you........Best of luck Regards Tremain.
