You forgot the issue of keeping pinky mice in the freezer
don't know bout her allowing mice where you keep the food for the family. Mmmm tuff one. You'll need a separate freezer. Just another added thought if you go ahead and get the stimmie.

get a small container/esky and show her that the rats/mice will be kept in there and when you put in the freezer and it will be sterile. I agree with the above, get her to know that there awesome and make sure you get one that wont bite and if it does never ever let her know. I got a bredli( 3 months old) mum loved snakes then brett decided to eat everything and my mum changed her mind about snakes until........my friend gave me his 11 yr old diamond.

haha, i gradually got there
i am also 17.
first i got frogs, then turtles then bearded dragons and then a snake
it was awesome but i must say its not the happiest thing i have ever seen haha
but what i did and filled(and when i say filled i mean spent nearly 1 1/2
years pumping their heads with info both positive and negative
and then took them to my friends house and showed them and they handled it
after that they slowly came around and actually organised my new awesome
reptile behind my back with my friend and with their new found 'outstanding' knowledge
on a whole range of species.... all until i found emails and busted them haha
keep detailing things to her and she WILL come around

When I first got snakes my mum was freaked out, would not touch my gentle snakes but did admit they were sorta cute when I sat on the couch with them.
3 months ago... I had to move back to my mums house.. with erm.... 2 snakes.... I now have 7 :-) and my mum has got used to them... slowly at first, but now she is like "ohh scratch and tickles look like they want a hug... I will get them out".... "ok mum"... "now puff wants a cuddle!".... "ok mum"
they just need exposure
