    Filter for feeder fish?

In my frog tank I have a few little feeder fish (they look like tiny guppies) and three little shrimps. Do they need a filter? The water is only about an inch deep and the filter I do have is huge and doesn't really sit anywhere, plus the part that sucks up the water is very long and the water isn't deep anough to be sucked up properly. The back is all cables and things, would that part be alright to put in the water? Do these guppies even need a filter or would they be fine without one?
    Thanks.

should be fine without one as long as you chance the water, if you want to you can get very small power filters for under $20 that would be fine.

I'm just worried because they aren't really swimming around much, just dawdling. I would use my huge filter but would it be safe with the battery and cord to be in the water? I mean when they design filters shouldn't they be waterproof? I just want my fish to be happy, even if they are food.

It's called Aqua one. It's designed to sit on the side of the tank with the sucking part coming over the top and into the water. The cords and things don't get wet with the design of it. I have it set up now, balancing on a cup but one of the sliding doors has to be wide open. We're going tonight to buy an underwater one. My frog rarely leaves his tank, even when he was kept in a topless one and, when he does, he generally stays on the desk so he should be fine for a few hours with it open.
One a side note, the fish are actually swimming around now with the filter on.

ok I just bought one. It's so cool. It has an attachable sprinkler that shoots water up in arcs. Fancy ^^

I just caught my shrimp trying to eat the feeder fish. Haha.

I'll take some tomorrow so there's sunlight. Flash just blurs everything.
