this is just a little question but you can't breed geckos from the same parents, can you? it's just that in one of red-ink's adds for sale he said that he had a breeding pair but then he said they came from the same parents but different clutches i'm i was just wondering i think the answer is no but maybe some others may say differently

i was told that smooth knob tailed geckos lay clutches of two and once the babies are old enough brother and sister can be bred, generally each clutch have the 2 different sexes. im not sure of what type of gecko sp you mean though but ill be interested to see what others say.

I have also heard that incubation temps have no effect on sex and that each clutch contains a male & a female. Can any Gecko breeders confirm/deny this please?

Gecko gender is not temperature dependent during incubation. Whether males or females are produced is entirely up to random probability. Clutches primarily consist of two but may also be only one and very rarely, three.

The genetics of geckos is the same as that of other reptiles. So line breeding ofrten involves the mating of siblings or offspring to parents.

Geckos may have up to 5 clutches in a season, depending on the species and the nutitional intake and body condition of the female.
